To prevent candy from losing its consistency, avoid overheating or allowing liquid to accumulate due to humidity. If this happens, simply add 2 teaspoons of vegetable shortening per 12 oz. of candy. In warmer temperatures, the candy may melt in the bag, but you can easily follow the package directions to rectify this.
